Conservation Research in India
Some major conservation works completed:
  • The Hukuru Masque of Male, Republic of Maldives
  • The Fenfushi Masque, Republic of Maldives
  • Different Wall paintings of  Sinon Monastery, Sikkim; Phodong Monastery Goa; Shesh Mahal , Patiala, Saraswati Mahal, Tanjore, etc.
  • Conservation of Oil paintings of Picture Art Gallary, Lucknow
  • Conservation stone sculptures of Mathura  Museum
  • Conservation of master piece bronzes of Thanjavur Art Gallary, etc.

Apart from conservation works,  NRLC is conducting several training programs from time to time and giving practical knowledge to trainees of different parts of the country and abroad.

 
Present Research Projects:
1. Scientific Study of   Authenticity   Of   Museum Objects

Radiation techniques, XRD,SEM – EDXRF, GCMS,FTIR techniques to identify the materials  and fabrication techniques, for authentication of art objects especially for metals and paintings.
Developing the UV/IR range photographic techniques for authentication of art objects.
Photographic techniques with ordinary light are developed to identify Lacunae on paintings.
